- Sign up with your email (or "Continue with Google"). Confirm your email if prompted.
- Type a prompt in the chat box. Route AI picks the best model and streams the answer.
- Check the small badge on each answer to see which model was chosen.
About routing
What does Route AI actually do?
Route AI embeds your prompt with a lightweight classifier, then scores every supported model on expected quality and cost for that kind of task. The top-scoring model gets the prompt.
The goal is simple: cheap models for easy questions, top-tier models for things that actually need them. You save money on the long tail without having to think about it.
Which models are supported?
OpenAI (GPT-5, GPT-5.1, GPT-5.4 family incl. Codex variants), Anthropic (Claude Sonnet 4.5/4.6, Opus 4.5/4.6, Haiku 4.5), Google (Gemini 2.5 Flash/Pro, Gemini 3 Flash/Pro), DeepSeek (V3, R1), Moonshot Kimi K2, Alibaba Qwen 3, and Amazon Nova. The list grows whenever a strong new model lands.
Can I force a specific model instead of letting Route AI pick?
Yes. Open the model selector above the chat input and pin any model — Route AI will be bypassed for that conversation. Switch back to "Route AI" anytime.
How do I see which model answered me?
Each assistant message has a small expander showing the chosen model, the routing score, and the latency. For aggregated stats across your conversations, open the Insights dashboard from the sidebar.
Billing & plans
How is usage billed on the Free plan?
Free accounts use a pay-as-you-go wallet. Top up any amount you like; each call deducts the model's API cost plus a small routing fee. You can see balance and per-call charges in Settings → Wallet.
What does the $10/month OSS Unlimited plan get me?
Unlimited (subject to a generous fair-use cap) usage of the open-source model line-up — DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, and similar. Proprietary models (GPT, Claude, Gemini) still bill against your wallet at API cost.
The plan is worth it if more than roughly 70% of your prompts can be served by OSS models. Route AI will lean into OSS when the subscription is active.
Can I use my own API keys (BYOK)?
Yes. Add provider keys under Settings → API Keys. When a key is present, we route through it instead of metering you against the shared wallet. Keys are stored encrypted in AWS Secrets Manager and never exposed back to the browser.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Settings → Billing → "Manage subscription" opens the Stripe customer portal. You can cancel, change payment method, or download invoices from there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Account
I forgot my password.
Click "Forgot password" on the login screen and enter the email you signed up with. We'll send a confirmation code; once entered, you can set a new password. If you signed in with Google, reset your password from your Google account instead.
How do I delete a conversation?
Hover the conversation in the sidebar, click the menu icon, and choose Delete. The conversation is removed from your history.
How do I delete my whole account?
Email support@promptrouterai.com from the address tied to the account and ask for full deletion. We confirm within 7 business days and remove conversation history, uploaded files, and billing identifiers.
Troubleshooting
The chat stopped streaming mid-answer.
Refresh the page and resend the last prompt. Streaming runs over a WebSocket; flaky networks or sleeping laptops sometimes break the connection. If it happens repeatedly, please email support with the conversation timestamp.
An answer looks wrong / hallucinated.
Use the 👎 button on the message — that signal feeds back into Route AI's training data and helps us avoid that model/prompt combination in the future.
I'm seeing "Google sign-in failed".
Usually a stale cookie. Open an Incognito window and try again. If it persists, sign up with email/password instead and email support so we can investigate.
